Auckland Photo Day 2025 - 24 hours 

Starts 12pm, Friday 6th June, closes 1159am Saturday 7th June

2025 sees us make some exciting updates to the annual 'day in the life' competition to cover the end of the work, school, Festival week on Friday 6th, making for opportunities for workplaces and educational groups to take part on Friday afternoon, and into Friday night, and through our traditional Saturday morning action from around the region. We cant wait to see your photos captured in the 24 hours! Entries open on 6th June after 12pm.

All participants are invited to X series Meets Storytelling Open Day at The Annex in Madden Street, Auckland. For some interaction with the 1st prize: Fujifilm X Series Camera - Be the first winner of this exclusive new X series camera this year.

Mark Adams: A Survey | He Kohinga Whakaahua

Auckland Art Gallery Foundation presents - Mark Adams: A Survey | He Kohinga Whakaahua is the first comprehensive survey of Adams' work, featuring over 65 photographs spanning 50 years. His practice documents Aotearoa’s landscapes, histories, and cultural exchanges, from sites of Te Tiriti o Waitangi signing to Māori whakairo and Samoan tattooing traditions. Sunday 8 June, 11:30-12:30pm: Panel Discussion: Photographers on Photography, a panel discussion led by photographer Edith Amituanai, discussing Adams photography. FREE.

 

Chris Corson-Scott: The Afterglow of Industry

As part of the Auckland Festival of Photography 2025, Sustain [tautinei] theme presents Chris Corson-Scott. 

This exhibition presents reproductions of a selection of images from The Afterglow of Industry, a 10-year project (and new publication on Daylight Books) by artist Chris Corson-Scott. Over this period Corson-Scott traveled the length of New Zealand numerous times, from its urban centers to its most remote landscapes.

This exhibition is proudly hosted by Precinct Properties throughout the lobbies of the PwC Tower, HSBC Tower, Aon Centre, Jarden House and Deloitte Centre.

Richard Young: Antarctica

Auckland Festival of Photography presents exclusively a suite of works from Antarctica by Richard Young, Wanaka based photographer as part of the Sustain [tautinei] theme. 

Richard’s photographs invite you to take time to observe the Antarctic landscape. A place where everything is experienced differently as the cold and silence focus the senses and the mind. These beautiful images are presented outdoors along the waterfront near Viaduct Events Centre, from 23 May to 12 June. Free.

Richard is an Award winning photographer, his fine art prints have been widely exhibited and his work has been recognised in prestigious international photography awards.

Festival HQ presented by Harvey Norman

As part of our waterfront themed exhibitions, events and self-guided walks around Wynyard Quarter this year, we are delighted to announce our new special event and hub, "Auckland Festival of Photography HQ presented by Harvey Norman". This year the Festival is excited to launch a new event, at a centrally located hub supported by our friends at Harvey Norman. Come along to Silo 6 on Friday 6th and 7th June for a new experience at this special 2 day hub where visitors can interact with their community of camera artists, professionals, while also explore and learn about the latest technology, cameras, and accessories to take their craft to the next level. Special projection event by Espon New Zealand, and print on site opportunities, save the dates. Entry is free of charge.
